Edwin J. Lowry, Jr.
Attorney

Born and raised in Louisville, Ed attended Waggener High School, then studied history at the University of Louisville, where he graduated summa cum laude in 1976. Among his various achievements, Ed was named “Mr. Cardinal” of his graduating class and “National Man of the Year” by his fraternity, Phi Kappa Tau. Ed played golf for the University of Louisville’s Golf Team, which his father, Ed Lowry, Sr., originally started during his own undergraduate studies decades earlier.

Ed went on to attend law school at the University of Louisville, where he graduated 2nd in his class.  Admitted to the Kentucky Bar Association in 1979, Ed has been in private practice ever since. As times changed and the world became more complex, Ed sensed that he needed more knowledge and experience specific to elder law and estate planning in order to provide superior representation to his clients. In constant pursuit of that wisdom over the course of his 40 year career, Ed has been a member of several elder law and estate planning organizations and has even taught at national conventions. Ed is currently a member of WealthCounsel, a national organization of attorneys dedicated to doing estate planning the right way, not the easy or cheap way. Locally, Ed is a member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Louisville Bar Association and the Louisville Estate Planning Council.

Ed and his wife Susan have three children, Alex, Ben, and Connor, and five grandchildren. In his spare time, Ed enjoys playing golf and tennis and traveling.

Ben T. Lowry
Attorney

Also born and raised in Louisville, Ben attended Manual High School, then studied political science at The Ohio State University, where he graduated summa cum laude in 2010. In 2013, Ben graduated from law school at the University of Louisville ranking 3rd in his class. To start his career, Ben clerked for U.S. District Judge Charles R. Simpson III in the Western District of Kentucky. As a law clerk, Ben had the opportunity to work closely with Judge Simpson and other court personnel, allowing him to learn the intricacies of legal procedure and courtroom practice. After clerking, Ben was hired by the local law firm Middleton Reutlinger, where his practice ranged from general business litigation to complex estate and trust litigation.

In June 2016, Ben joined Ed’s firm and began focusing his practice on estate planning, elder law, and estate/trust administration. Building on the foundation laid by his father and grandfather, Ben has continued to seek even more knowledge and experience to ensure that he can provide the same superior representation that the firm’s clients have come to expect. Ben is also a member of WealthCounsel, as well the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) and the Elder Law Section of the Kentucky Bar Association. Locally, Ben serves on the community advisory board for Franciscan Health Care Center and Glen Ridge Health Campus.

Ben and his wife Emily have one child, Calvin, who was just recently born in August 2020. When he’s not helping take care of Calvin, Ben enjoys playing golf and tennis, camping, hiking, and finding other ways to stay active. In his spare time, Ben plays chess in local, regional, and online tournaments.
